Cultural Competence in Health Care

Given the increasing cultural diversity present in our patient population, it is important to understand how to best tailor the delivery of health care services to individuals from different cultures. It is also important to understand how culturally competent care can lead to better patient outcomes. Through case examples participants will learn to better understand the issues and challenges involved in treating patients from diverse backgrounds. Participants will also gain a greater understanding of their own personal comfort level of treating a diverse patient population.
