West Suburban College of Nursing

West Suburban College of Nursing is a fully accredited Catholic, upper division specialty college. Since 1914, West Suburban College of Nursing has been educating nurses in a small, friendly college environment. The College confers two degrees: The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

For the BSN program, the College accepts transfer students from any accredited community college or university, using the Illinois Articulation Initiative (www.itransfer.org) as a guideline for the prerequisite liberal arts and sciences courses. Students may apply for admission to the program after earning 31 semester hours of the liberal arts and sciences requirements, which must include anatomy and physiology, chemistry and microbiology courses, but must have all required general education and pre-nursing courses completed before starting the program.

The graduate program contains the following majors: clinical nurse leader, adult health clinical nurse specialist, nurse administrator and nurse educator.

Uniquely situated within West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, West Suburban College of Nursing offers classes taught by practicing nurses. Through advanced technological methods, students gain hands-on experience and have the opportunity to take online and web enhanced courses.
